Description
OK, how to explain something so existential? lol.
Basically, I created this painting/installation as an expression of the monumental feelings I experience (and I'm sure everyone does!) as I make descisions in life to face the "real world". I feel like I have one foot in the door of Childhood and one in Adulthood, neither here nor there. Every time I think of my future, it seems daunting and immense. As I look out of my windows at the cityscape in front of me, or walk down the crowded walkways and halls of my campus, I feel like just another number, a small, insignificant piece of the larger whole and I wonder what purpose I am really here to serve, what difference I really can make.
That was so emo, lol.
So, the ladder represents an option, a freedom, and a leap of faith. But right now, I am just waiting and observing. When the time is right, I will climb that ladder.

Wow, this is amazing! Especially since it's done with oil paint (I LOVE oil paint, but I tried to work with it once, and it was total and utter frustration, hahaXD just not my medium, I guess) Great concept (: Don't we all feel like that (/have felt like that) sometimes? The detail is also really nice ^_^
